First Day Of Practice !!! It's almost here...
Good Evening Piranhas ! I hope everyone is well. We are within 6 registrations of capping registrations and starting a waiting list. How exiting is that !
We will be starting practice tomorrow night INSIDE at the Warrensburg Community Center pool. We have the pool from 7:15 to 8:30. Once we go OUTSIDE we will have the pool from 7:15 to 8:45. That will be on or around 4th of July week (fingers crossed). It's a definite - just waiting for the intake grates to arrive.
Based on our current registrations we are going to divide practice as follows while inside......
All swimmers 12 and Under will swim in the 1st session from 7:15-7:50. All 13 and Over swimmers will swim from 7:50-8:30. The locker rooms WILL BE CLOSED and ONLY the Family Locker Room will be open. NO SHOWERING will be allowed so be prepared to come ready to swim and leave immediately after your session is over. NO PARENTS will be allowed on the pool deck. Please social distance in the lobby or better yet drop off and pick up swimmers. PLEASE have your swimmer picked up ON TIME (7:50 or 8:30 SHARP depending on session ending) coaches will NOT be able to supervise swimmers between sessions and we MUST vacate the facility no later than 8:40pm ! No Exceptions.
Hundreds of hours have went into planning for this so please - we need everyone's help. Many eyes are watching us and we want to set an example as to what can happen when people get creative and the WANT to say yes is more beneficial than taking the easy NO out. We will have very little tolerance for anyone not being part of the solution. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but most folks have no idea what it has taken to pull Summer Swimming off in this Covid World. Our kiddos are worth it and we vowed to find a way and we did. Let's not screw it up !!
We will also NOT have a parent meeting on the first night. We will have one, however on night #3, which is Thursday. Attendance WILL BE MANDATORY to maintain swimming on the team this summer. It is imperative we go through rules with parents - which we will go over with swimmers Tuesday and Wednesday. We will also be going over what the season will look like under Covid our Rules...LOL.
Our intent is to make this FUN for all of our kiddos this summer. Covid has changed the way our kids are living and we want to give them something that doesn't seem SO messed up! We will need everyone's cooperation to make this happen. We made a decision months ago that we would get creative and that we would advocate for our youth.... we are excited that our Piranhas will be fortunate enough to get back into the water and find some normalcy through swimming. God Speed and we will see everyone tomorrow night at the ... POOL !
